Vincent Rious, senior energy economist will speak at the Florence School of Regulation's Summer School in EU energy law and policy (20-24 June 2011).

 

Program:

Day 1 : Manufacturing the EU Single Market for Energy – Public Law, Private Law and Economic Perspectives is intended to provide a sophisticated introduction to the EU energy law framework, focusing on the interrelationship between legal rules.

  • EU Energy Law under the Lisbon Treaty – The Constitutional Framework by Pr Leigh Hancher, Tilburg University and A&O
  • Market Coupling and Internal Market – the Manufacturing of Energy Markets in Europe by Vincent Rious, Microeconomix

Day 2: Institutional Developments in Energy intends to review the recent developments on the institutional side: ACER, ENTSOs, powers of national regulators and problems of allocation of competences in practice.

Day 3: National Experiences with the Implementation of the Third Package / The Infrastructure Package and the new Gas Security of Supply Regulation

Day 4: EU Antitrust and State Aid Law will discuss the most prominent cases under EU antitrust and state aid law of the past year
